Watchmen opening sequence

So I've decided to break the post drought with this -- the opening credits from Watchmen.

Oh, and I really enjoyed the movie. Negative fanboys need to shut it.

  1. bummer they took it down. I really enjoyed the intro, and I liked the sound track in general, the songs they used fit the atmosphere quite well.

  2. Grish, I enjoyed the movie as well. The one issue that I had was that the focus seemed very one sided on the Watchmen rather than humanity in general. Removing some smaller emphases of the book (like most of the stuff with the psychiatrist) made it a lot harder for me to care about the populace in general and the threat of nuclear war. My own reservation about that reaction is that it could just be a result of my knowing outcome in advance.

Also, Veight should have been, in the words of someone less-PC than myself, "less gay".

  3. Veidt is intentionally sexually ambiguous I'm pretty sure. He's supposed to be like the pure aryan super person (smart, strong, etc) and kinda gay.

I do agree that by taking out the psychiatrist and comic book reading kid it did take the human face away from those that Veidt sacrifices for the "greater good".

  4. Well I think the comic book kid stuff will be in the director's cut. I saw the G4 special on it and he said that that portion of the film is very important and that he didn't totally cut it. I think with it, people who didn't read the book would find it boring because it is something that is continually gone back to in the book to comment and echo the surrounding circumstances. It would have made the movie longer and would then have probably limited the audience somewhat. I thought it was badass and think the alternate ending worked well in the universe the movie created. The book is so much more extensive and continually builds up the world as that the actual ending is possible. Also, Doctor Manhattan rules, I'm so jealous. If I was him, I'd create ents and then cruize over to kerry's house and beat him up. A promise is a promise Kerry. And who is Larsen B, is it Depo? I don't know half the people on this thing because everyones so secretive.

  5. J-bone is Larsen B. I need your email address marky (facebook message it to me) so you can post articles on this. Ents are so rad.

  6. I thought the movie was pretty good. I think we can all agree that Jackie Earle Haley was great as Rorschach. I don't know about anybody else, but I love The Comedian. So bad, but so good. As super hot as Silk Spectre was, she couldn't act and the sex scene was a little much. I LOLed at the Simon & Garfunkel, cheesy.
